Okay. So. First, let us mourn the death of cinema. I assume that's what happened because New Moon broke a box office record, so the only logical conclusion is that cinema is dead.

Second. At school today, I was walking around, and everyone would be talking about how "Hot" this Taylor Lautner guy is. I believe he was the torso playing the werewolf. Anyway, they wouldn't shut up about how great this guy looked shirtless, and how hot he was, and how they would go to see any movie in which he was shirtless.

Creeeeeeeeeeepy!

So, if a guy goes to a movie in which a woman takes her top off, and he goes walking around school talking about how great she looks topless and how he'd pay to see that again, everyone would call him a sexist and yell at him for objectifying women. BUT. If a woman goes to see a movie and a man takes his top off, she's allowed to make the EXACT same comments, switching all the pronouns from "she" to "he," and everything's fine? I don't think so. Women who talk like that are just as sexist as the guy in the first example, and they're objectifying men.

Hypocrisy is when your words and your actions contradict each other. None of these girls who I've heard talking this way are EVER allowed to play the sexism card again, because they're being sexist as well.

And why should I have to walk around school and hear about guys' chests? Why should I have to log onto facebook and see twelve thousand statuses about this werewolf's torso?

This is EXACTLY what's wrong with Twilight. It's used to market sex to young girls by parading half-nude guys around in front of them, all the while showing them a teenage girl lusting after a Vampiric Sex Predator. Listen, Stephanie Meyer, it's EITHER conservative Mormon values OR a trashy romance novel. You just can't have both, they're mutually exclusive.

Plus, the Vampire mythos are in with the Incubus, which are two almost identical creatures, Demons who sleep with you and steal your blood/soul. If you read Dracula, the forebear of all vampire fiction, he sleeps with almost all his victims. The very idea of a vampire is intrinsically sexual.

Anyway, that's what I feel about that. Feel free to discuss. If you can find a logical reason why girls are allowed to gush about Taylor Lautner's chest but I'm not allowed to say an actress is pretty, please share.
